Shooting Handedness Added for All WNBA Players

We are happy to announce that we have added shooting handedness for all players in WNBA history to player pages on Basketball Reference.

This information appears towards the top of player pages next to their position, underneath their names and social handles.

If you're an Alyssa Thomas fan, you might be wondering how we classify her since she switched from shooting left-handed to right-handed during her career. If you click her name we hope you enjoy the solution we've placed on her page (the same one we used when Tristan Thompson made a similar switch). We would like to thank one of our Summer 2022 interns, Greg Harvey, for his assistance in compiling this large dataset.

One of our next projects will be to incorporate this information into Stathead searches so that subscribers can create lists like "most all-time points by a left-handed WNBA player" or "most assists in a season by a right-handed WNBA player."
