Posted by Jonah Gardner on June 11, 2020

Stathead is a powerful suite of tools that allow you to use our websites's massive database of statistics to research and answer questions. With a Stathead subscription, you can run customized searches through 100+ years of career statistics, season statistics, game statistics, splits and play-by-play.

You can try Stathead for free for a month, and we want to make sure that you get the most out of both your trial and your subscription. So we've created a video series that will explain what each research tool is and how you can get the most out of it! This is Stathead Tutorials!

This video is about the Event Finder! The Event Finder is the best tool to search Baseball-Reference's extensive database of play-by-play data. There are millions of individual baseball plays with coverage back to 1918. This tool works a little differently than the other ones, but after you watch this quick video, you'll be an expert!

We will release more videos going over the other Stathead tools in the coming weeks, and we have other ideas for ways to help make sure you get the most out of your Stathead subscription. However, we want to hear from you! If you have any ideas on ways we can help you learn how to use Stathead, or if you have any questions for us about Stathead, let us know in the comments! You can also email us or hit us up on social media.

I use Event Finder more than any of the other tools.

One addition that would be really nice would be to add a split between Starter and Reliever.
