Using the play-by-play data that powers our play finder, I've built detailed season split pages for each team on offense and defense, as well as league total splits and league average splits for the year. Now you can compare your team's performance by field position to the league's, or see which team is best in the fourth quarter. If you can think of a situation you want to see that's not covered here, leave a comment & we'll see what we can do.

We often get emails about some of the more... let's say "esoteric" positional abbreviations in the P-F-R database (the most confusing of which date back to the earliest days of professional football). In the interest of unifying our college football and pro football sites a bit better, we've added draft information and links to pro stats for college players from Karim Abdul-Jabbar to Eric Zeier.

Thanks to the research of Neil Paine, we now have lists of team executives and owners dating back to 1936, a page for each executive, and owner/executive lists for each team. These lists are complete for active franchises, though we have partial data for defunct franchises as well.

In case you missed it, here is one of our newest PFR Play Index tools: the Drive Finder. Similar to the Play Finder tool, this will let you find drives for all types of game situations, featuring all drives from 2000-2012. We include a breakdown of average time, yards, plays, points, and even starting position so you can get an idea of the situation behind each drive. Did you know the 2012 Browns average drive started at their own 30.6 yard line with them trailing by 2.8 points? Well now you do! You can also find:

• all of the Patriots' game-winning playoff drives
• all drives since 2000 which took 20 or more plays
• all 90+ yard comeback drives in 2012

In addition, we have added drive breakdowns to all of the boxscore pages since 2000 which include summaries of offensive performance for each drive (look for the "Drives" section midway through the page above the full play-by-play). Now Patriots fans can relive both the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.

Wondering how far your favorite team has to travel this season? This summer we created some team travel maps highlighting the distances each team has to go to away games each year (back to 1970). Compare the Browns' 6,578 miles traveled (round-trip) with the 28,268 miles Seattle travels in 2013.

Recently, we've added Vegas line tables to our team-season pages, which include the spread & over/under of every game, and results straight-up, vs. the line, and vs. the over/under. (This is available for all teams since 1978.)

In case you missed it, we've added fantasy points as a sorting option and search criteria in our Player Season Finder and Player Game Finder tools. Use these to find out things like:

• Who led the league in fantasy points in 2012?
• Who has the top fantasy game of all time?
• Which quarterback has the most fantasy points all-time?
• What's the worst fantasy scoring game with at least 30 rushing attempts?

We've added a new feature to the play finder - you can now filter results from within the page. For instance, if you're doing a search for 3rd and 4th down passer ratings in the last 5 years and want to ignore the John Hekkers of the world who only have 3 attempts (and a perfect passer rating!), simply click the Filter link next to the table title. This will bring up a list of all of the columns in that table, which you can use to look for, say, only players who had at least 150 passing attempts. As an added bonus, filtering a table will update the URL so you can link directly to your filtered list.
