Japanese League Stats Now on FBref

Posted by Alex Bonilla on August 2, 2019

FBref continues to add new leagues to its international coverage, and now we announce the addition of Japan's J1 and J2 Leagues, which are covered back to the 2014 season. The 2019 J1 League season is in full swing and we are also adding the latest stats and match reports from the current campaign. Some high-profile Japanese players moving to Europe are Takefusa Kubo and Hiroki Abe, who've signed with Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively. Kubo has played in the J1 League since his age-15 season, and finished with a 0.61 G+A/90 in his 13 appearances with FC Tokyo this season. Abe made 49 appearances with Kashima Antlers in the last 3 seasons. While Abe is going to Barcelona, former Barcelona star David Villa is Vissel Kobe's leading goal scorer this season.
