See How Many Baseball Players are Older/Younger Than You

Posted by Jonah Gardner on October 22, 2015

It's a universal sports fan moment: the first time you realize that you're older than the player you're watching. Of course, as time goes on, the ratio flips. Eventually, its more of a surprise when you realize a player is older than you are. No matter where you fall on that spectrum, our newest tool will almost certainly make you feel old.

We've added a page that shows players born before and after whatever date you pick. You can also see their WAR and, thanks to the numbers in the left-most column, how many players in MLB were born before or after that date. For example:

  1. would love a war filter or service time filter, to keep the list to somewhat more recognizable names.

  2. It is awesome and INCREDIBLY depressing that you did this. I'm not quite a year older than you, Jonah, and I feel your pain!

  3. I every time spent my half an hour to read this webpage's posts daily along with a cup of coffee.

  4. ROBERT SHAPIRO Says:

information about bob shapiro who played in the kitty league 1953 for the Mayfield Clothiers

  5. Shasta Jones Says:

All the active baseball players are younger than I am. I am old enough to be mother to most of them and grandmother to a few of them. I am Mrs. Methusula. I think I might be older than Satchel Paige.

  6. Dear Robert,

I just searched your name on here. You are 85 years old. You are 5'10" and you weigh 175 pounds. You played two seasons in the minors. When you played for the Mayfield Clothiers, you batted .344 in 41 games. It was in 1954 though not 1953.

  7. Julio Franco is a player/manager in a Japanese semi-pro league which is not listed here. Tony Phillips is a bit younger, but he might be older than some of you. . .

  8. I was born in 1987 too! God bless me! Ha ha!

  9. is there any way to limit it to living players?

  10. Jonah Gardner Says:

No, the only filter is Active/Inactive
