At the 1980 Winter Olympics, the individual Nordic combined event consisted of ski jumping on the normal hill at Invernale. All competitors had three jumps, with the best two scores of each to count. The next day, 19 February, the skiers raced 15 km at the Mt. Van Hoevenberg cross-country complex, with the race starting and finishing in stadium.
