China and Chinese Taipei also won two gold medals, with Chinese Taipei athletes adding a third medal, with a silver in men’s featherweight.

The 2004 taekwondo tournament was held at the Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena, or the Kleisto Gymnastirio Falirou, within the Faliro Coastal Zone Olympic Complex. Some early round handball matches were also contested at this venue.
