Men's Team All-Around

Gymnastics at the 1932 Summer Games: Previous Summer Games ▪ Next Summer Games

Host City: Los Angeles, United States
Venue(s): Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, California
Date Started: August 8, 1932
Date Finished: August 10, 1932
Format: Five-person teams. Best four individual total scores to count towards team score.

Gold: ITA Italy
Silver: USA United States
Bronze: FIN Finland

Teams could consist of five gymnasts each, with the individual results of the best four gymnasts from each team added to determine the team total. There were five nations competing – Italy, the United States, Finland, Hungary, and Japanese, although Hungary was hampered as they only had four gymnasts.

The Italians, led by individual all-around champion [Romeo Neri], won by a large margin over the Americans and the Finns. Trailing far behind these teams were Hungary and the Japanese, who participated in Olympic gymnastics for the first time. There was little suspense in the event as huge point gaps separated all the teams.
