Biography

At 13-years-old, West German cox Klaus Zerta won a gold medal in the coxed pairs at the 1960 Roma Olympic Games alongside [Bernhard Knubel] and [Heinz Renneberg]. He was then the youngest German Olympic Champion ever (13 years and 283 days), and was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, the highest German sports award. Zerta later became a tennis coach. By profession, he was a construction manager at Degussa.
