Biography

Dressage rider Ida von Nagel finished 10th in the individual dressage at the 1952 Helsinki Games on [Afrika], but she did win the bronze medal in the team event. Together with [Marjorie Haines], [Else Christophersen] and [Lis Hartel] they were the first women to be allowed to participate in equestrian events. [Afrika] won another silver medal with [Anneliese Küppers] in the team competition at Stockholm in 1956. Ida von Nagel belonged to a well-known family of horse breeders.
