Biography

Julie “Didi” Vlasto played singles at the 1924 Olympics, losing in the final to the formidable [Suzanne Lenglen]. Vlasto was French singles champion in 1924. She was French doubles champion in 1925-26, partnering Lenglen, and was runner-up in mixed doubles in 1925, alongside [Henri Cochet]. Vlasto played Wimbledon in 1923, 1926, 1929, and 1930, making the 1926 semi-finals before losing to [Kitty Godfree]. Vlasto was world ranked in the top 10 from 1923-26, with a high ranking of #8 in 1923.
