Biography

Ernest Thorne was just one of three members of the City of London Police team to make their Olympic début in 1920. The others were [Harry Stiff] and [George Canning]. Thorne pulled in all three matches, against the United States, Belgium and Netherlands, which the police team, representing Great Britain, won 2-0 each time.
