Biography

Bengt Tandberg studied at the Technical School, and at Caleb Althin’s painting school. His predominant subjects were sports and landscapes, especially views around Stockholm. He was born in Djurgården, an island in central Stockholm, where he later had a studio. Bengt Tandberg was an avid skier for Djurgårdens IF, and was the uncle of boxer Olle Tandberg, who also competed in the 1936 Olympics. Bengt’s brother Olof (Olle) Sigurd won three national championships in Nordic combined.
