Biography

Robert Spiess reached the quarter-finals of men’s doubles alongside [Luis Maria Heyden] at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. In the singles he was eliminated in the third round by his teammate [Heinrich Schomburgk]. Spiess was the son of the German consul in Moskva (Moscow), and was also born there. In 1912 he won the German men’s singles title.
