Biography

Paul Söllner won a gold medal with the coxed fours at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The same year this boat won the German Championship. Söllner became a professional soldier and was promoted as an officer in 1937. During World War II he was a member of the Wehrmacht. After the war he became commander of the Bundeswehr Sports School in Sonthofen from 1961-67 and was, in 1972, a member of the Organizing Committee of the München Olympic Games.
