Biography

Harry Sharkey rowed the coxless pair at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, sitting in the bow ahead of [George Dahm]. Sharkey represented the Penn Athletic Club. During World War II, he served in the US Navy as a machinists mate, 2nd class, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bennington in the South Pacific. In Philadelphia he worked as a manager at Scott Paper for 38 years, retiring in 1979.
