Pierre Segond-Weber was the son of the famous actress, Caroline-EugÃ©nie Segond-Weber, who is buried at PÃ¨re Lachaise in Paris, not far from the great tragic actor FranÃ§ois-Joseph Talma. Pierre was born in Algeria, and produced several portraits of North African personalities, specializing in pastels. In 1933, Segond-Weber received a scholarship from the General Government of Algeria and was named an Officer of the Alawite Wissam. A talented draftsman, Segond-Weber also studied psychology.
