Biography

Alice Nordin was a Swedish sculptor and was trained at the Higher School of Art and Crafts in Stockholm from 1886-90, the Royal Art Academy in Stockholm from 1890-96, and later in Paris, at the Académie Colarossi, and also Roma and Firenze. Her first exhibitions of her own were presented at the Norrköping Museum in 1919, in Helsingborg in 1920, and in Stockholm in 1922. She produced several luminaries for Böhlmark’s lamp factory in Stockholm. During the 1910s, Nordin made some porcelain sculptures for the Gustavsberg Parish. She became best known for portrait busts, which are displayed in the Opera and the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm.
