Biography

German three-day-eventer Bruno Neumann won the bronze medal with [Ilja] in the individual event at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympic Games. He was also part of the German team but they had to withdraw from the team event after team-mate [Walter Feyerabend] could not finish the cross country section and had to withdraw from the jumping, but Germany were the highest-scoring of the teams who withdrew. Neumann was at the time of the Games a Major in the army, stationed at the Cavalry School in Hannover. He went missing-in-action during World War II in December 1943, and was declared dead in 1944.
