Biography

Flávia Nadalutti was a butterfly and individual medley specialist who competed at the 1976 Montréal Olympics, shortly after she had turned 15. The year before, she had won a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in the 4x100 medley relay. A true prodigy, Nadalutti won gold in the 100 backstroke and silver in the 200 IM at the South American Championships when she was only 11-years-old. She competed at the 1978 World Championships and then retired at age 17. Nadalutti studied architecture and later worked in environmental and sustainability concerns, including working for the Organizing Committee of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
