Biography

Charles Mulder competed at the 1924 and 1928 Winter Olympics, earning the first Winter Olympic medal for Belgium, in bobsleigh. Competing in Chamonix with brakesmen [René Mortiaux], [Paul Van den Broek], [Victor Verschueren], and [Henri Willems], Mulder steered the bob to third place in all runs, earning a bronze medal overall. He was also successful in ice hockey playing for Le Puck d'Anvers. On the international level, he represented Belgium at four European Championships 1924-27 in a total of 10 games, although only as an alternate in 1927. In 1924, the Belgium team won the bronze medal.
