Biography

Jean Moillen and his cousin [André Moillen] won a silver medal at the first four-men bob World Championships in 1930, two years after their Olympic appearance. Both came from the resort of Les Diablerets, which is part of the municipality of Ormont-Dessus in the Vaud canton. They also played for the Les Diablerets ice hockey team and were excellent skiiers. Jean later became President of the Diablerets Development Corporation. While he was a musician and conductor of the local choir, André was their president. Both died in a fatal car crash on the way to Vevey, when their car crashed at night into an unlit lorry.
