Sofia Marinou played singles and mixed doubles at the 1906 Athina Olympics, winning silver medals in both events, accompanied by [Georgios Simiriotis] in the mixed. Marinou lost in the finals of the singles to [Esme Simiriotis], who may have been related to Marinou’s mixed doubles’ partner, but we have not been able to prove it. Along with [Ioanna Tissamenou], whom she defeated in the first round of singles, Marinou was the first woman to compete for Greece at the Olympic Games.
