Biography

Alpine skier Evi Lanig, sister of non-Olympian Axel and [Hans Peter Lanig], later married bobsleigh Olympian [Lorenz Nieberl]. She finished ninth in the downhill at the 1952 Oslo Olympics and 14th in the giant slalom. Between 1953-55 she was the German downhill champion and in 1954 and 1955 was also the alpine combination champion, and in 1955 became first German giant slalom champion.
