Biography

Rower Hans Krause-Wichmann participated in the coxless fours with [Werner Biel], his brother [Achim], and [Hanns Peters] at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952, the highlight of his career. The boat won its heat in 6:40.8 minutes ahead of the favored Norway and Italy boats. They lost their semi-final and also closely lost the repêchage semi-final and missed the final. In 1955 Hans and his brother Achim finished second in the coxed pairs. By profession, Hans was an architect.
