Alexander Kidd was a member of the Liverpool City Police tug-of-war team at the 1908 Olympics. In their opening match against the United States, the Americans objected to the Liverpool teamâs footwear after losing the first pull. The objection was overruled and they promptly retired from the competition. Kidd and his teammates then beat Sweden, but lost to the City of London Police in the final. Nothing else is known about Kidd.
