Cornelius Jadwin graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point in 1918. He was a cavalryman as a military officer. In World War II, Jadwin was an assistant military attachÃ© in Rome and later was an attachÃ© in Bulgaria and Turkey. He later became an intelligence officer at the Pentagon. Jadwin retired in 1948 as a colonel, and chief of staff of the Military District of Washington.
After retirement, Jadwin worked for Allied Van Lines until 1950 when he became general manager of Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, Maryland. He left that post in 1953. Jadwin was also a commodore of the Corinthian Yacht Club and a member of the Army & Navy Club.
