Biography

Luis Maria Heyden, who was born in Venezuela as the son of a German diplomat, competed for Germany in tennis at the 1912 Olympics, losing in the quarter-finals of both singles and doubles. Heyden was German champion in doubles in 1912 and 1921, with Louis Trasenster in 1912 and [Heinrich Schomburgk] in 1921, and won the German mixed doubles title in 1922-23, alongside [Lilí Álvarez]. Hayden played Wimbledon in 1914, losing in the third round of singles, and making the quarter-finals in doubles alongside [Robert Spiess]. In 1926 he lost the first round at the US Open.
