Biography

Jack Hartman was a sprinter who won the California sprint title five times, in 1952-53, 1956-57, and 1960. He rode the tandem sprint at the 1960 Olympics along with [David Sharp]. Hartman was US Champion in 1959 in the 5-mile scratch race. Hartman attended San Jose State University and rode for the San Jose Bike Club. After the 1960 Olympics Hartman and [Bob Tetzlaff] formed the Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club, which was the club Greg Lemond first started with for training rides.
