Although raised in Antigua, Calvin Greenaway studied in England at the University of East London. He competed there as a sprinter and as captain of the North East London Polytechnic volleyball team, leading that team to two consecutive titles in the Southeast England College Championships. When he returned to Antigua he re-started the dormant National Volleyball Association and started a local league, serving as its secretary and captaining the national team for two years. Greenaway was a sprinter and long jumper in athletics, competing in the sprint relay and long jump at the 1976 MontrÃ©al Olympics, and finishing eighth in the long jump at the 1979 Pan American Games.
Greenaway became a sprint coach in his homeland and also worked in sports administration. He was on the Executive Committee of the Antigua & Barbuda Athletic Association, later serving as Vice-President and then President. He was also a Vice-President of the Antigua & Barbuda National Olympic Committee. His career was in civil service as a land surveyor, eventually retiring in 2009 as Chief Surveyor in the Lands and Survey Department for Antigua & Barbuda. After his retirement he settled in Florida in the United States, where he died.
Greenaway received the IAAF pin for 40 years service to sports and athletics. During the Independence 2014 National Awards Ceremony he received the Grand Cross of the Most Illustrious Order of Merit. In 2015 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Athletics Awards Ceremony.
