Biography

West German cyclist Dieter Gieseler won the silver medal in the 1,000 metres time trial at the 1960 Roma Olympic Games. The same year he claimed his only West German national title in the same event. In 1962 he turned professional until 1967. His brother Edi also was a cyclist.
