Biography

Born in Jamaica, Robert Esmie was a part of the best 4x100 m relay team in the mid-90s, along with [Glenroy Gilbert], [Bruny Surin] and [Donovan Bailey]. Esmie’s 4x100 relay medals include golds at the 1994 Commonwealth Games, the 1995 and 1997 World Championships, and the 1996 Olympics, adding a bronze at the 1993 Worlds. Individually Esmie won a bronze medal in the 60 metres at the 1995 World Indoor Championships, and made the final of the 100 at the 1993 Worlds, where he finished seventh.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.10 (1997).
