Biography

As one of the crew members on [Herman Whiton]’s Llanoria at the 1952 Olympics, Ducky Endt became the oldest American to win a gold medal in yachting. He was known as an excellent all-round athlete who raced in all types of boats, but was especially known as an ocean racer. Endt was born in the Netherlands but emigrated to the USA and became a US citizen in October 1933. His World War II draft registration card noted that he was “self-employed.”
