Canadian Rodolphe Dubé also wrote under the pseudonym François Hertel. He was a poet, essayist, novelist and playwrighter, and made his novitiate with the Jesuits resulting in a doctorate in philosophy and theology. As a professor, Dubé left the Jesuits in 1947, moving to Sherbrooke, where he founded and led a conference in over 600 cities around the world concerning the French diaspora.
