Chris Dorst played water polo at Menlo-Atherton High School and Stanford. He was on the US National Team for the 1980 and 1984 Olympics, winning a silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, after the 1980 team was forced to miss the Olympics by the Jimmy Carter-led boycott. He is a member of the Stanford Athletic Hall of Fame and the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame. Dorst graduated from Stanford and then obtained an MBA from the school. He later worked in sports and technology management. He has worked extensively with the US Olympic Committee, serving on their Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Athletesâ Advisory Council. He has been a board member of the Stanford Water Polo Foundation and a founding member of Sports Challenge International, a faith-based mentoring program for athletes. Dorst also volunteers as a girlsâ high school water polo coach. |
