Biography

Nessa Cohen was an American sculptor of German and Russian heritage. She was a long-time student and life member at the Art Students League in New York. Cohen also studied with other artists from six Native American tribes, capturing their clothes and features, which resulted in her best-known work Sunrise. Cohen was a member of the National Sculpture Society and traveled frequently to Italy and France.
