George Collie studied in London and Paris and after his return in 1930, taught in Dublin. He mainly painted Irish society relations in his time. He was educated at the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Metropolitan School of Art, in Paris at both the Academie Colorossie and the Grande Chaumerie, and in London at the Royal College of Arts.
