Maria Bujakowa studied at the Academies of Fine Arts in Vienna, Warsaw and Lviv. She taught art from 1945-69. As the principal of the State Vocational School, later
transformed into the Technical College of Weaving, she introduced courses in embroidery on wool and making colorful linen lace. She specialized in works with fabric materials, such as carpets, tapestries, embroidered clothes, and laces.
