Biography

Primarily a diver, Frank Bornamann also competed in swimming at the 1906 Olympics. On the trip to Athina aboard the ship Barbarossa, the US athletes were on the deck when a huge wave hit the ship. Distance runner [Harvey Cohn] was almost thrown overboard but was saved by the quick action of Bornamann. Bornamann was injured during the incident, which probably prevented him from being at his best in Athina.

Bornamann was US Champion on the 3-metre springboard indoors in 1909, 1911, and 1912. He represented the Chicago Athletic Association.
