Biography

Félix Bonnet competed in four-man bobsledding at the 1948 Winter Olympics. He was fortunate to be there. In World War II, Bonnat was taken prisoner in September 1944 and moved to the Natzweiler-Struthof camp, on the Alsatian border of Germany and France. Shortly thereafter, the Natzweiler prisoners were sent on a “death march” but Bonnat survived. On 22 October 1944 he arrived at the Dachau concentration camp, but fortunately was not taken to the ovens. Bonnat again lived through the experience and was released when the Allies overran Germany.
