Italian sculptor Antonio Biggi studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, then moved to Genova and Roma. He was known for his sculptures and statues of athletes. In the mid-1950s he was appointed professor of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Napoli and at the same time became an honorary professor at the Academy of Carrara. During these times one of his favorite themes was horses, taken from Greek vase paintings.
