Biography

Ed Bagdonas attended West Point where he played on the football team, helping them to an undefeated season in 1958. Bagdonas later competed as a hammer thrower for the Army. He finished third at the 1960 Olympic Trials to make the US team. Bagdonas became a career military officer, becoming a troop commander by 1966. He worked on the development of the M1 Tank, and retired after 21 years as a Lieutenant-Colonel. Bagdonas also continued to compete in masters’ hammer throw competitions.

Personal Best: HT – 63.80 (209-4) (1960).
