Find NBA Finals Data on Basketball-Reference
Posted by Mike Lynch on June 4, 2015
With the NBA Finals (finally) tipping off tonight, we just wanted to quickly link to some of the NBA Finals data & tools we have on the site.
- For a full list of NBA Champions, Finals MVPs & annual top playoff performers click here.
- For greater detail on the performance of Finals MVPs, check out this list. LeBron James is 1 of just 10 players with multiple NBA Finals MVPs. Only Jordan, Duncan, Magic & Shaq have more than 2.
- For a full list of every Playoff series in NBA history click here. You can also click on any series on that list to see a cumulative box score for that series, with links to every game. Here is the 2014 NBA Finals, for instance.
- If counting "ringz" is your thing, check out our list of the players with the most championships. As you can see, LeBron James has a chance to match another all-time great SF, Larry Bird, with 3 titles.
- Additionally, you can use our Play Index to run searches specifically for NBA Finals games. In the Team Game Finder or Player Game Finder, just set the game type filter to Playoffs and the round filter to Finals like in the image:
- This allows you to run searches like Most Points in an NBA Finals Game since 1964 or Largest Margin of Victory in NBA Finals History or the Most Lopsided Series in NBA Finals History.
- You can also use the Game Finder on a specific player to find things like Every NBA Finals Game of LeBron James's Career
- And with the Team Score Finder, you can find the Highest Scoring Quarters in the NBA Finals in the Shot-Clock Era. Or the inverse. Or the largest halftime leads, largest 4th quarter comebacks, etc.
We hope you find these tools useful as you enjoy the 2015 NBA Finals.
Thanks Lynch for your kind information. I'm really excited about this season and hope this time the tournament will boom the audiences :D
Steve Kerr, understand that this series will be won on controlling Lebron James in the paint, send two men to attack him and when
he starts elbowing your players in the paint elbow him even if one
of your players gets suspended. "He is fouling everyone in the paint and he acts like a common criminal. Your people are acting like little
kids they need to grow up and show James some of his own medicine.
You will not win that series unless you get aggressive and go after
all those criminals on that team. Also there coach is stepping on the
line of play constantly and also onto the floor during the game that is
an automatic technical foul.
Seriously, though you have go hurt him some in that paint and anyone
else elbowing your players in the paint. Please you are my favorite
coach and your team is Number one, "YOU MUST GET AGGRESSIVE,
EVEN IF YOU LOSE A COUPLE PLAYERS FOR A GAME OR TWO, YOU
MUST CREATE HAVOC WITH JAMES AND THAT OTHER PLAYER WITH
ALL THE TATOOS. I will keep you in my prayers, you must win, he
James is playing football out there, GIVE HIM SOME OF HIS OWN
MEDICINE, but you have to hit him very very HARD, HARD, HARD.
Steve Kerr and to all the teammates of the Golden State Warriors you
need to get aggressive in the paint, remember that coach for the
Cavaliers plays street ball rather than NBA basketball. You have to
get aggressive, aggressive, AGGRESSIVE, AGGRESSIVE. Attack James
and others on the three point line do not let them come in the paint
and do not LET THEM INTIMADATE YOU. Send two men to attack jAMES before he even dribbles the ball. Lose some people if you have
to but be aggressive, even if you lose two men under suspension you
must stop James ugliness style of basketball, even their center and
others play borderline football on the basketball on the court. When
they elbow you elbow them twice as hard IMMEDIATELY. Some of the
comments by Kobe etc are ridiculous, he and others on Cavaliers are
playing like gangsters on the basketball court. You must get 100 percent AGGESSSIVE, AGGRESSIVE, AGGRESSIVE.
