Due to a need to replace a faulty power supply the sites will be down for hopefully just a few minutes tomorrow afternoon as the power supply is being replace. The work is scheduled to occur sometime between 1 and 3 pm ET and should affect only our CFB, CBB and Olympics sites and this blog. Should a longer outage be necessary or any additional sites be affected, we will post any updates to our twitter accounts.

Just a note that we've added several new features to make basic team and opponent statistics more accessible.
Most significantly, we've added year-by-year tables for team totals, team per-game, opponent totals, and opponent per-game statistics to our franchise section.
The easiest way to find these pages is to click to a team's season summary page or their Franchise Encyclopedia page and look for the "Year-by-year" links...
Once you've clicked to the new pages, notice the option to toggle between the totals (or per-game) statistics, and a summary of the team's ranking in each stat category, as well as a year-by-year summary of how each season compares to the season prior...
We've made several other small changes, too. We've added per-game statistics and year/year %s to the team season summary pages, and added Top WS (Win Share) players to each season of our Franchise Encyclopedia, so that it's easy to scan through the years and identify, for example, the Jordan-era Bulls, or the Olajuwon Rockets.

Happy Birthday to us! It's been a good run and we'd be looking for that one last big veteran deal if we were an NBA player. Hopefully we have at least ten more years in us.
The vast majority of the credit for the site goes to Justin Kubatko, who you really should be following over at Statitudes.com. Thank you for all of your support through the years.

Not to be outdone by baseball's addition of manager challenges, we have added a full list of challenges to the bottom of coaching history pages as well as season and career challenges & challenges won in the coach career totals. These numbers are not official (they are just pulled from the game accounts in the NFL gamebooks), but they're still a good barometer of who is bad (Dan Reeves was just 4 for 28 on challenges) and who is good (Mike Tomlin is 24 for 44).

The pitching table is getting pretty wide on the team and player pages, so we've added a new little twist to our player pages (soon to be on team and league pages) where if you hold your mouse over the save column for a pitcher a little box pops up and it will show you the blown saves, save opps, save situations and holds for that pitcher. See the screenshot below.
This data is already on the "More Stats" page linked just above the pitcher's primary stats, but not everyone makes it onto those pages.

If you've clicked around our college basketball site recently, you may have noticed that we've added player high schools and uniform numbers for all D-I players that have played during the last two seasons.
It's a general policy to list the last high school or prep school that a player was at before attending college, so please let us know if you find any mistakes.

Just a note that we've added some new info to the bottom of our boxscores, for the current season onward. Last week we added DNP and Inactive records to our player gamelogs.
We've added the same information to all of our 2013-14 boxscores. Players that didn't enter the game or dress get a DNP record, and player suspensions are noted when known.
Below the boxscore we note the players on the respective teams' inactive lists.

This is a subtle one, but as you may know play-by-play and ergo certain split data like platoon info and count data is not complete back to 1914. We have 100% of play-by-play back to 1973 and the 98%+ back to 1954. Details Here.
So we are now allowing you to exclude the split seasons from the Play Index Split Finder where incomplete totals may occur, so a pre 1973 platoon split, or a pre 1988 by count split.
See the location of this checkbox below.

We've always had free agency pages at the end of the year, but now I've gone back and added pages back to 1976. If you go to a league page, the graphic below shows where you can find it.

Got a request for this and it was an easy addition to make, so we now have wins above average in both the pitching and batting season finders.
