Happy Birthday to Basketball-Reference.com!

Today is the ninth anniversary of the launch of Basketball-Reference.com. BBR debuted as a standalone website on May 10, 2004, but of course it is now part of the Sports-Reference.com family of sites.

I still do 99 percent of the work on the site, so I take great pride in its growth over the years. How much has it grown? The site's traffic is now almost 400 percent higher than it was just five years ago.

That growth, of course, would not be possible without our dedicated users, so in addition to the birthday wishes I would also like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who has played a part in making this site what it is today.

    Hey Justin today is my son's 24th birthday he was born on the night of the playoffs pistons vs bucks ...I believe we won the NBA finals that year.. guess I can check the site ....HaPPy BirTHdaY Basketball-Reference.com and Jeremy Johnson

    Happy Birthday! I remember using this site back in 2004, and I haven't stopped! Arguably the best Basketball website in the world.

    b-r.com is not only the best basketball website and the best stat website, it's pretty much the best website in the world.

    Not only was it the best site from day 1, it's made more improvements than anything else around. I'm constantly amazed.

    Hard to believe it's been 9 years, but time flies when information comes so easily.

    Happy Belated Birthday BBR!!!

    I would like to remind you, Justin, about my prediction quite a few years ago, that when it's all said & done BBR will be enshrined in the HoF as a contributor to the game. I still believe it is in order and will happen. Your site is absolutely invaluable to any NBA fan!
