But Brian Goff of The Sports Economist detects a different source of bias — not specifically against African-American QBs, but against mobile quarterbacks in general.

Umpires’ racial bias disappears for other years of data: At Sabermetric Research, Phil Birnbaum reports that although there appears to be evidence of racial bias among umpires in ball/strike call data from 2004-06, that trend doesn’t carry over into data from other seasons.
