Summary

Germany’s Petra Horneber led the qualifying with 397 and was ahead for most of the final. But on her final shot, leading by 1.7 points, she fired only an 8.8 allowing Renata Mauer (GER) to pull ahead with a 10.7 to win by 0.2 points. Four days later Mauer led the small-bore rifle after the preliminaries but dropped back to a bronze medal. The bronze medalist in this event, Serbian Aleksandra Ivošev, won the gold medal in the small-bore event.
