Summary

[Greg Foster] had won the 1983, 1987, and 1991 World Championships, but his Olympic travails continued and he did not make the US team. The favorite was Canadian [Mark McKoy], the 1982 and 1986 Commonwealth Games champion. His training partner was the 1988 silver medalist, [Colin Jackson] of Britain, who ran 13.10 in round one. But Jackson injured his ribs in the quarter-final and although he made the final, he was not in the medal race. McKoy led the final from the start and won quite easily over [Tony Dees] (USA).
