Summary

The favorite entering München was Heide Rosendahl who was second on the year list to Bulgaria’s Diana Yorgova. But Rosendahl had set the world record of 6.84 (22-5¼) in 1970 in Torino, Italy. Rosendahl opened with 6.78 (22-3) which was her best mark and won her the gold medal. Yorgova came close with 6.77 (22-2½) in round four for the silver.
