In the final Edith Hannam and Charles Dixon needed three sets to defeat another British team, Helen Aitchison and Roper Barrett. Hannam also won the covered court ladies’ singles at Stockholm, while Dixon won the silver medal in the men’s singles, and, with Alfred Beamish, a bronze medal in the men’s doubles. Two months later, Dixon skipped the Olympic lawn tennis event to play at Wimbledon where he won the doubles with Roper Barrett. Later in the year he and James Parke (GBR/IRL) won the doubles title at the Australian championships, and he finished a memorable year by captaining the winning British Davis Cup squad in 1912.
